Devara’s concept was modelled on Jr. NTR

Mumbai: Director Koratala Siva is basking in the success of Devara: Part 1, which stars NTR Jr. in the lead role. The film has garnered widespread appreciation from audiences, and Siva expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming response. “The love and appreciation we received is overwhelming,” Siva remarked with pride, underscoring the impact the film has made.

Siva shared that his vision for Devara was always built around NTR Jr., with whom he shares a strong bond. Their collaboration goes beyond the set, as they continuously exchange ideas to shape their projects. Siva was also confident in casting Janhvi Kapoor as Thangam and Saif Ali Khan as Bhairava. Janhvi, despite being relatively new to South Indian cinema, embodied her character seamlessly, while Saif’s raw portrayal of Bhairava added a layer of authenticity to the film.

Reflecting on the broader context of Indian cinema, Siva believes that the industry is undergoing a transformative phase, with regional boundaries slowly dissolving. “Indian film is changing, and disparate sectors are uniting into a single, powerful voice,” he said. Siva is a firm believer in the global appeal of Indian stories, particularly folklore, and emphasized the importance of sharing these tales with the world.

Devara: Part 1 serves as a foundation for what is to come, with the story of Vara set to unfold further in the sequel. Siva promised that Part 2 will be even grander, filled with more action and intense revelations as the battle between Vara and Devara escalates. The sequel, according to Siva, will dive deeper into the story, and fans can expect an emotionally charged and action-packed continuation.

When asked about the pressure following the success of the first part, Siva remained calm, acknowledging that pressure is a constant companion in filmmaking. “We are constantly under pressure, but that is what keeps us going,” he mused, reflecting on the drive that motivates him to keep pushing creative boundaries.

The plot of Devara revolves around the son of a village leader who, while pretending his father is still alive, continues his father’s fight against smuggling operations. By presenting himself as weak, he conceals his true intentions, weaving a web of deception to carry out his plans.

Siva assembled a talented technical crew for the film, including acclaimed music composer Anirudh Ravichander, editor A. Sreekar Prasad, and cinematographer R. Rathnavelu. Their collective efforts helped elevate the film’s visual and auditory appeal, contributing to its massive success.

With Devara: Part 2 on the horizon, fans are eagerly awaiting how the story unfolds, knowing that Siva and NTR Jr. are set to deliver another cinematic spectacle.
